Zaurus The PDA that I now use is the Sharp Zaurus SL-5600, which I won in the ZUG Documentation Contest. It has a 240x320 colour screen, a 400MHz XScale ARM Processor, 32MB of RAM, 32MB of user-writable flash for safe storage of files, the embedded Linux OS, SD & CF expansion slots, a built-in keyboard, and support for Java. It comes with tons of software too.

You can find out more about it at www.myzaurus.com

It's easily the closest thing I have come across to a true pocketable PC. For instance, I originally wrote this page using tkcEditor, previewed and checked it using two different browsers, Opera and Konqueror, which use almost the same rendering engine as their desktop counterparts. Then I uploaded the page and images to my web space using OpieFTP, through my mobile phone using IR, all on my Zaurus (now I can connect to the internet to do this via my mobile phone using my Bluetooth Compact Flash card). If I was writing CGI or PHP pages I could even run the full Apache web server with Perl and PHP support on my Zaurus.

You can often find me posting on the OESF Forums, under the name of 'tumnus'.
